Seriously 2 paragraphs? I know 8th graders who could write a better review than that. Seriously.
No, no, no you don't get it Thom. This console war between the Ps3 and 360 is much like "The Highlander". There can only be ONE! *Insert beheading and lightening crashing down in the background*
That is a pretty interesting viewpoint you have there kn1gt. Contextually speaking the 360 has been out a year longer than the Ps3. It has sold 28 million units in it's near 4 year lifetime. Impressive feat no doubt. The Ps3 has been out for near 3 years and has sold 21 million units. Not that bad in my book. As Vince from shamwow would say, "you following me camera guy?". The 360 sold somewhere around 7 or 8 million in it's first year right?
So that means both consoles...
As the announcer chick in TF2 would say: YOU LOSE, STALEMATE.
No ammo for you guys in your console wars. I told you guys, for anyone to say the 360 was better than the Ps3 or vice versa would be splitting hairs. Both did pretty good.
Well they say they are keeping the cell and they will probably keep Blu-Ray drives. By the time the system launches (probably 2012 in my estimation) the cost for parts and mass production for both of those key components will have dropped ALOT. Not to mention faster read speeds for Blu-Ray (aka less installs). It won't be as expensive (probably) due to these two reasons. You have to remember both were bleeding edge tech when the Ps3 came out.
It's kind of like the same way women can hit men but men aren't supposed to hit women. Different standards my good man, different standards.
360 will be a great console to get when it gets dirt cheap. Since it's been out for 4 years already you can probably pick up a good amount of old titles for it. I know i will when i finally get my 360.
*Laughs my ass off* Well played Pixelsex.
And oh yeah i don't think multiplatform shows what devs can do with both consoles. Multiplatforms maximize profits from sells. More times than not because of deadlines, fixes etc games aren't extremely optimized. There's a difference between peak performance and polishing.
I don't care how long it takes a game to come out. You don't know how much alot of people would give for another System Shock, how long people have waited for the newest SF game (10 years) and a bunch of other sequel to games. It doesn't matter about how much time is poured into making the game. That's not my concern, i'm more interested in the end product. You know, since i like playing games more than analyzing them.
It's not surprising since the same dude who made the original DMC on Ps2 is making this game. He feels that (more or less) that DMC bastardized lately and isn't true to his original vision. He also feels his direct biggest competition is GoW2 which he says (if you read between the lines) is the best action adventure/hack and slash game out.
Just bringing a few tidbits to why it might look like DMC etc.
There's a difference there raptor jesus. Bayonetta looks like how DMC4 was SUPPOSED to be. More over the top, more wild combo's, bigger boss fights and oozing a whole lot more style. DMC4 WAS pretty tame and mediocre. Specially since, you know it basically was a carbon copy of DMC3 but with the graphics prettied up. Now i love DMC3 but the same game over with just a few tweaks is very lame.
On the other hand i can't wait for Bayonetta to drop. This, Brutal Legend and GoW3 possibl...
Come on throw in a "Meet the Spy" video.
Since when was a 8 a bad score though? Just because it doesn't score in the top 10 percentile doesn't mean it's NOT a good game. 8 is still a pretty damn good score. And it's what i'm personally expecting Killzone 2 to be.
Yeah i actually play a decent amount of violent video games. GoW, Hitman, Ass Creed, SC, a bevy of different fighters etc.
Looks so good. Maybe this will be the game to finally take me away from Team Fortress 2.
Nay. Best. Period. Game. Period. Ever. Exclamation Point.
I'm buying 6 of the 10 games listed. Good list, surprising to see I am Alive on there.
It's pretty much a consensus that they need to spread out the titles all year around. Half my games from this generation are sequels and the other half are new IP's. I think that's a good mix but i would rather have more new IP's than sequels.
As for the question risen in the article at the end. I actually have barely gotten into Prince of Persia because i'm so deep into Mirrors Edge still.
I think i just splooged myself. If Sega was to bring back DC games to HOME, i'd jump on HOME immediately. Immediately. Dreamcast is my favorite console of all time and i'd LOVE for dreamcast games to come to PSN/HOME.
Good score. Better than i was expecting it to get. Still tampering my personal expectations.
